Sony GM: 'Wii more fun than the PS3' [Tue Dec 5, 05:01PM]

Sony Australia & New Zealand general manager Nic Foster told reporters that he thinks gamers will probably prefer the Nintendo Wii over Sony's PlayStation 3.

"The Wii-type functionality is more just a sub-element of what the PlayStation 3 offers," he said in an interview.

"Wii is a core gaming device. It's a more fun, intuitive sort of product to pick up, where the PS3 is a broader entertainment solution; so you can have your fun, enjoyable gaming ... but then you have a whole suite of other applications ... such as Blu-ray media playback, the ability to access your music, access your photos and the interoperability with the PlayStation Portable.... read on

How to kill someone with an iPod Nano [Sat Jul 1, 08:51PM]

No difference between alocohol and mobile phones in car [Sat Jul 1, 02:02PM]

With findings that show drivers who talk on their cell phones, even when using hands-free gear, are just as impaired as those who drink and drive, researchers at the University of Utah are offering a compelling reason to "hang up and drive."

Experiments conducted on a university simulator showed that students who talked on handheld or hands-free cell phones drove more slowly, had slower braking reaction times, and were more likely to crash. Suprisingly, three study participants rear-ended a pace car while talking on a cell phone, while those students who were legally drunk did not crash.

The study reinforces earlier research by Drews and his colleagues showing that hands-free phones are just as distracting as handheld phones because the conversation, not just the manipulation of a device, distracts drivers from their surroundings.
