At the Mobile World Congress yesterday LG Electronics unveiled the LGKF600 and LG-KF700 mobile phones in an effort to address this issue.
Kwak Woo Young, Executive VP of LG Electronics Mobile Handset R&D Centre, told the Show Daily, “The main problem with user interfaces is caused by the number of features on today’s phones.
As phones gained features, interface designers created deep, nested menus that required a number of clicks to dig through.
In essence, designers began to trade ease of use for features, seeing the two as mutually exclusive. Older phones with just a few features could have a button for each. This simply isn’t feasible on feature-packed phones.”
