PRESS RELEASE - TomTom, the world’s largest navigation solutions provider with over 15 million users worldwide, today announces it will start selling its award-winning portable navigation devices in the Brazilian market. The entry-level TomTom ONE 3RD EDITION will be available in stores across São Paolo and Rio de Janeiro from December 2007. TomTom’s mid-range product TomTom ONE XL will be introduced early next year.

Drivers can enjoy the benefits of a TomTom device immediately, thanks to TomTom’s award-winning plug and drive navigation maps and software which come pre-installed on the device. Combining smart navigation features such as fast route calculation and itinerary planning, with an easy to use touch screen and the latest and most up-to-date maps of Brazil*, it is now easier than ever to navigate from A to B.

The TomTom ONE and TomTom ONE XL ensure easy-to-use navigation straight out of the box. This means there is no need to download complicated software, just attach the device to your windscreen and start navigating.

Users also have access to TomTom HOME, a free software application that enables users to manage, download, store and transfer content from their computer onto their TomTom device. Via TomTom HOME users can easily plan routes, download free software updates and install new maps to keep their TomTom up to date at anytime.

TomTom ONE XL
The 4.3 inch screen of the TomTom ONE XL guarantees drivers have a clear overview of their surroundings, ensuring a stress free and safer journey on the road. Thanks to the enlarged screen drivers will have a better overview of the road ahead with more streets and information on display. TomTom ONE XL has a recommended retail price of R$ 1.999,00 and will be available early 2008.

Safety
Independent research proves that using a TomTom device has a positive impact on driving and traffic safety, helping users to get to their destination safe and relaxed.

The study, commissioned by a leading research agency in the Netherlands, shows that the use of a satellite navigation device improves drivers’ behaviour. In addition, it heightens drivers’ alertness and reduces the stress levels of the driver. Finally, the use of a TomTom satellite navigation device reduces travel times by 18% and reduces the amount of kilometers driven by 16%.

The TomTom ONE and ONE XL will be available at major retailers including FNAC, Saraiva, Extra/Eletro, Submarino, Americanas.com, Shop Time and Lojas Americanas.
