About the test:
At the end of this week KLM will start a test with BlueCasting. As soon as travelers come within range of the Bluetooth transmitter, they will automatically receive a message from KLM on their Bluetooth enabled cell phone. Of course, Bluetooth on the cell phone has to be configured in ‘detectable’ mode.
During the test period travelers will receive a message asking them to go to the KLM website and use the online check-in process in order to shorten the waiting lines at the airport.
The BlueCasting application has been developed for KLM by Lost Boys. Lost Boys and KLM already have a long lasting partnership in developing multimedia tools and -applications for the Airline’s consumer relations and –communications.
Travelers who have Bluetooth enabled on their cell phone will receive this message only once. At the end of the testing period KLM wil evaluate the BlueCasting application to find out whether travelers appreciated the service and if there’s a need for more or different information.
