Ubiquitous mobile services is key Congress theme [Tue Feb 12, 12:16PM]

At the heart of this year’s Mobile World Congress is the concept of ubiquitous services, with discussion set to focus on the opportunities that exist for mobile communications to build on its massive success and become a ubiquitous force in society.

Included in this overriding theme will be debate around four issues: ubiquitous networks, changing business models that challenge traditional operator roles, mobile's social and economic value, and the mobile digital content revolution.

As ever the Congress features high-profile speakers from across the new mobile industry value chain. More than 230 chief executives are involved in the debates, including Arun Sarin (Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone), Wang Jianzhou (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, China Mobile) and Ralph de la Vega (Chief Executive Officer, AT&T Mobile). Speakers from the vendor community include Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo (President and Chief Executive Officer, Nokia), Paul Jacobs (Chief Executive Officer, Qualcomm) and Carl-Henric Svanberg (Chief Executive Officer, Ericsson), whilst high profile representatives from such players as Yahoo! and the BBC are also on board
