How fast can you tap with Fastap? [Thu Jan 18, 07:04AM]

The traditional 50-year-old 12-button keypad for mobile phones is essentially ancient and outdated. It doesn’t address or facilitate ease of use required for today’s emerging and popular technologies- such as texting, mobile IM and email, and search, etc. Sure, these can be performed on a traditional keypad, but they can be difficult and also almost frustrating for the user. This slows growth of ARPU for the wireless operator.

Fastap solves those problems. Fastap is an enabling keypad technology devised of raised and lowered keys combined with error-prevention software. The raised letter keys allow consumers to tap the letter they want with less of a chance of hitting the surrounding keys. Even if you do, the error prevention software detects what key consumers were trying to hit and hence the letter appears on the screen.... read on

Fake Nano with real Apple logo [Sun Dec 3, 04:40PM]

OK, we've seen tons of iPod look-a-likes and other fake MP3 players and mobile phones. In a lot of stores in China you van buy Sasmung or Nokio (no, these are no typo's) cell phones who look like the real deal but most certainly aren't!

The producer of this fake iPod Nano (in French) however takes it to the next level. As you van see, this 'Nano' not only looks like the real deal, but also has a 'genuine' Apple Logo and everything else to make this fake look as real as possible.

The only thing the Asian manufacturers couldn't cope with was the touchpad scrollwheel. No word on pricing yet, but it'll probably be somewhat cheaper than the real iPod Nano. More pictures:... read on

GPS Tracker review [Tue Nov 28, 07:26PM]

Last two weeks I’ve been busy testing GSM-GPS Micro Tracker, released in The Netherlands by NTM Technologies under the name GPS Monitor. It is a GPS receiver, which can be hidden in a car, a handbag or any other precious possession you owe and can be used to trace the position of it any time any place. The GPS monitor includes a built in SIM card featuring mobile subscription in order to send SMS containing information about it’s position. Even more, it can be operated from the distance, through a mobile connection.

Using variety of methods you can trace the position of the GPS Tracker yourself or you can be automatically informed every time it changes the position, by activating the park mode. You receive then a message containing the position of the GPS Tracker, completed with the GPS coordinates on the digital maps which are included by the GPS software, which you install on your GSM.

The GPS Package consists of the GPS Tracker and the GPS Monitor software, a cover, a 1GB memory card of your choice (depends on your mobile phone),... read on

The Ten best MP3 players below $100 [Mon Jul 10, 05:07PM]

Wether or not these MP3 players all are available in Europe too, i don't know, but according to CNET these are the ten best players a 100 dollar, or less, can buy.

If you ask me, i prefer a mobile phone with enough memory and a MP3 player, but that's just me. . .

1. Samsung YEPP YP-MT6X (512MB)
The good: Superior AA battery life; solid sound quality; compact and durable; highly readable display for such a small player; FM radio; voice, radio, and line-in recording; next-track readout; MP3, DRM WMA, and OGG playback.
The bad: Too many operational instructions... read on
